Krystal’s Story
Krystal Anderson was a force of nature whose joy touched countless lives. As a Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Granddaughter, Best Friend, Chiefs Cheerleader, Yogi, Colleague, Sorority Sister, and Advocate for Women she left an indelible impact. She electrified the field at Arrowhead Stadium and she broke barriers as a Black woman in STEM, helping to develop a patented postpartum hemorrhage monitoring system used to save lives around the world. Krystal’s generosity knew no bounds. She laughed loud, and she loved big - and she did the only way she knew how - with sparkle and with joy.
During her 21st week of pregnancy, Krystal sought out hospitalization, and despite the trauma of losing her baby girl, she fought on. Tragically, in March 2024, Krystal passed away due to maternal sepsis. She is now reunited with her and her husband’s babies James Charles and Charlotte Willow.
Krystal Anderson’s legacy lives on through the Shine With Joy Foundation, supporting scholarships and grants for Black maternal healthcare, STEM education for Black women, yoga certification, and community initiatives. Shine with Joy focuses on these issues while embodying Krystal’s spirit of joy and empowerment to create lasting change.
