Serving as Chairman of the SHINE With Joy Foundation, Clayton is dedicating his life to carrying forward the legacy of his late wife, Krystal Anderson. With deep passion and unwavering resolve, he works to champion the causes that Krystal held close to her heart, including empowering Black women in STEM, advocating for equitable maternal healthcare, supporting families affected by stillbirth, and spreading joy through community initiatives. His commitment to the foundation will ensure that SHINE With Joy will always reflect Krystal’s vibrant spirit and drive to make a meaningful difference for others.

As the Executive Director of the SHINE with Joy Foundation, Mallorie Denmon leads with passion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to creating a positive impact in the community. Inspired by the life and legacy of her sister-friend, Krystal Anderson, Mallorie is devoted to championing the causes that Krystal cared about deeply.  

Mallorie’s determination and hard work are evident in every project she undertakes. She combines her deep love for community engagement with a strategic mindset, ensuring that the foundation’s programs and initiatives have a lasting and meaningful impact. As a result, the SHINE with Joy Foundation will illuminate lives, celebrating the spirit of Krystal and carrying forward her legacy of love, light and joy.

Volunteer Executive Director - Fundraising

Shanna Adamic embodies audacious optimism as a way of life. As an executive at Oracle, she has spent over two decades championing corporate philanthropy, global health initiatives, multi-million-dollar fundraising efforts, and community engagement at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and hope. Her optimism allows her to boldly envision a healthier, more equitable world, where intelligent and connected healthcare becomes a reality.

Shanna’s passion lies in uniting hearts and minds under a shared vision - one of the many things she shared with Krystal, who will forever be one of her dearest friends.

Marc Middleton

Secretary

Marc joins the SHINE With Joy Foundation Board as its Secretary. He brings almost two decades of legal experience and over a decade of championing causes that support positive outcomes in childbirth and maternal health. Marc is thrilled to serve the SHINE With Joy Foundation and honor the late Krystal Anderson by supporting the causes that were so dear to her, to include promoting the entry of black women in STEM, advancing maternal health for all women, encouraging health and wellness, while doing it all With JOY.

Sarah Koerper SHINE With Joy Treasurer

Currently serving as the Board Treasurer, Sarah is a dedicated and passionate member of the SHINE with Joy Foundation. Sarah brings a strong commitment to the mission of the organization and to honoring Krystal, her life-long sister, friend, and teammate. She will work closely with the finance committee and executive team to ensure the Foundation’s resources are used effectively, helping to build a strong foundation for its continued growth and impact. Krystal continues to inspire Sarah to be a gracious encouraging motivator and Sarah is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Krystal’s legacy.

Catherine “Cat” Friends, RN, MSN, FNP-BC

Maternal Health

Serving as Program Director of Maternal Health for The SHINE With Joy Foundation, Cat comes with an extensive healthcare background. She brings a deep passion for healthcare advocacy, education and evidence-based care for over 20 years. Not only has committing her career to providing quality care, she can relate to the maternal crisis as she herself experienced a poor outcome in her maternal/fetal care.

Cat will focus on opportunities with key stakeholders to improve black maternal health disparities. She will always hold onto inspiration from Krystal Anderson, who led with a bright mind, empathetic heart and unwavering loyalty as a sister friend to Cat. Together over the years, they supported local and national fetal-maternal causes. Cat will be an extension of the foundation to amplify knowledge and partnerships specific to improving maternal health outcomes.
